Baccarat 101 — The Filipino Casino Staple, Now Live at 777pup
Ask any regular casino-goer in the Philippines what they play and chances are they'll say baccarat. It's the game you'll find in every VIP room from Manila to Cebu, and it's the most-played live game at 777pup by a considerable distance. Here's why it's so popular, and how to get started if you're new.
Baccarat is simple: you bet on either the Player hand, the Banker hand, or a Tie before the cards are dealt. Two cards go to each side. The hand with a total closest to 9 wins. Face cards and tens count as zero; aces count as one. If a hand totals more than 9, only the second digit counts — so an 8 and a 7 gives you 15, which counts as 5.
That's really it. No complex strategy required. The Banker bet wins slightly more often than Player, which is why it carries a small commission at most tables at 777pup. Tie pays out much higher odds but lands far less frequently.
Why is baccarat the top pick at 777pup? Because the house edge is among the lowest of all casino games — around 1.06% on Banker bets. That means your money goes further in baccarat than it does in slots or game shows. It's also fast, with rounds often finishing in under 30 seconds on speed tables.
777pup offers several baccarat formats: Classic Baccarat, Speed Baccarat (for those who want rounds to fly by), Squeeze Baccarat (the satisfying slow reveal popular across Asia), and No Commission Baccarat for players who prefer even simpler payouts.
